The best robot vacuums of 2026 for DE and US: Roborock Saros 20, Mova Z60 Ultra, Shark PowerDetect, Roborock Saros 10R — with FAQ and pro buying tips.
Updated: 22 April 2026
Robot vacuums finally grew up in 2026: lidar navigation, auto-empty docks, mopping with real pressure, and AI obstacle avoidance have arrived in the mid-range. What differs: Germany’s bestseller list looks nothing like the American one. We show each market’s top 3 — and explain why there’s no globally best robot vacuum.
CHIP’s 2026 ranking is led by the Roborock Saros 20 — explicitly named test winner. Right behind: the Mova Z60 Ultra Roller Complete and the Dreame Matrix10 Ultra. Notable: all three are Chinese, all three ship with a full dock featuring hot-water mop washing, all three cost between €1,200 and €1,800. A clear sign of how fast Chinese makers have leapfrogged iRobot.
The US ranking looks very different. Tom’s Guide names the Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 as Best Overall — a brand that barely matters in Germany. The Roborock Saros 10R is their pet-household pick. And in the budget segment the TP-Link Tapo RV30 Max Plus leads, delivering a self-empty dock for under $400. So if you’re shopping in the US, the DE list doesn’t translate one-to-one.
Pa values (suction) of 8,000+ are standard today and plenty for daily use — higher numbers are often marketing. What matters more: navigation (lidar plus AI obstacle avoidance), mop lift on carpet, threshold climbing (real 2 cm), noise (under 65 dB in standard mode), app quality, and the manufacturer’s update policy. That’s where models separate — and exactly why the same brand performs differently in DE and US lineups.

Models with strong suction, anti-tangle brushes, and good carpet detection win here. US tests specifically call out the Roborock Saros 10R for pets. In Germany, the Roborock Saros 20 is the current all-round top model and handles pet hair confidently.
Yes — but only if mopping is actually good. Cheap units just drag a wet cloth — modern top devices (Saros 20, Matrix10 Ultra, Mova Z60) actively lift the mop, press down on hard floors with real force, and wash it at the dock with hot water. That replaces a mop machine; a wet cloth doesn't.
For most users, yes — especially with pets or frequent use. Self-empty docks cost more but save weekly bin emptying. Premium docks combine vacuuming, water refill, and mop washing — the difference between daily use and a toy.
Look for automatic mop lift (otherwise you drag a wet mop over the carpet), good brush design, and threshold climbing. The Shark PowerDetect (US) and the Roborock Saros 20 (DE) lead their respective tests here. Avoid units without mop lift if your home has carpet zones.
